My buddy Brian got a new iPhone recently and asked about my favorite apps… here’s my suggestions partly tailored for him but worth sharing as well.
MLB At Bat 2009 – Premium ($9.99) or Lite (Free)
Pitch by pitch live coverage of every MLB game all season long. The Premium version includes access to streaming live GameDay audio from your phone for every game, and you can even select whether you want to listen to the home or away coverage.
Pandora (Free)
All the goodness of Pandora streaming straight to your iPhone. Dock with a set of speakers and you can take Pandora anywhere you want.
Flight Control ($0.99)
Just picked this up and it’s great. Well designed fun remake of the old air traffic controller game. Just drag the planes where they need to go and try to keep up.
Ambiance Classic ($0.99)
Turn your phone into one of those white noise maker gadget’s that used to sell for 50 bucks or more. If you’re in a noisy hotel and trying to sleep, fire up Thunderstorms and you’ll be out in no time.
Facebook (Free)
I don’t like to sit in front of the computer on Facebook so this is a nice quick way to see what’s going on with people and to say hello.
Epocrates (Free)
He’s a Doctor so I can’t not recommend it!
Remote (Free)
Apple’s free utility to control iTunes wirelessly. A must have if you play music at home from iTunes.
