Dilbert to the Rescue
Perhaps sensing a void following a raft of bad economic news, Dilbert enters the scene with some needed comic relief. The ongoing ‘Dilbert works in collections’ series is great but, today’s takes the cake.
The Associated Press: Lawmakers in stimulus dilemma

Does anyone really believe that sitting around and arguing over this [via AP] is the most helpful use of time at the moment? Is threatening to ‘tattle’ on how your congressman votes what we need? Seriously people this is pissing me off.
I’m not too jazzed about the government continuing to increase the deficit but if that’s not the solution, I want to hear some other options and RIGHT FREAKING NOW! Just giving people a few hundred bucks or even a couple thousand isn’t going to solve this for the millions that are losing their jobs, or for the crumbling infrastructure, or for becoming less dependent on oil from the middle east. We need to invest in America, and we need to do it soon.
Sort it out and stop the kindergarten name calling. Let’s get this done!
e-book Revoluation?
Days before the release of Kindle2, John Siracusa has a fascinating read on the past, present, and future of e-books.
The once and future e-book: on reading in the digital age – Ars Technica.
The e-book format is an interesting one, but one that as yet, has to gain mainstream traction in the market. Some see the Kindle, iPhone, and even Google as fueling the e-book revolution, but it remains to be seen if eBooks will ever catch on as much as digital music has.
The second aspect of the debate, is who will come out on top in the e-book market. Amazon has certainly been making inroads with the Kindle, and by all outward appearances Kindle2 is a significant improvement over its predecessor.
But at the same time, do people need an additional single purpose device, or will the iPhone become people’s go to choice for long form reading? Already, two camps have emerged.
For this one, only time will tell, but it certainly seems like technology and design will advance e-books significantly in the coming years.
Go Steelers!

Congrats to the Steelers who became the first team to secure their 6th Super Bowl title Sunday night. We definitely wanted to watch the game and have a true Super Bowl experience so we schlepped down to London for the weekend, took Monday off, and went out to Bodean’s BBQ in Fulham.
During the game we were greeted by about 8 inches of snow which made for a fun trip home that night, and the next morning!
