After a gastronomic adventure in Italia we were inspired to make some good Italian cooking. What better than Gelato?!
I found this absolutely mind-bogglingly good recipe for Dulce de Leche compliments of Emeril Lagasse.
We made it 2 weeks ago… and again last week because it was so freaking good.
+ 1 can sweetened condensed milk
+ 1/4 cup brown sugar
+ 1/4 cup water
+ 2 large egg yolks
+ 1 1/2 pints heavy cream
+ 1 tablespoon vanilla
+ 1/8 teaspoon salt
= Yum

Thanks Rachel… we’re enjoying some Pineapple sorbet tonight actually. Not quite as rich but it’s hitting the spot as well.
