Yay! Wordpress 2.5 is Snazzy!

Just a quick post after updating to Wordpress 2.5. Only poked around a couple minutes now but looks like plugins work and it’s a MUCH cleaner interface. Maybe I’ll be motivated to spruce things up around here.

Slight Revelations

This is a brilliant bit from good a buddy of mine Oliver that he agreed I could share here as well. So without further ado:

Slight Revelations
Maybe even an epiphany…

Rare are the moments in life when things become clear. No matter how murky the water or how dirty the mirror, a single event or culmination of events can, in an instant, show one the truth behind the murk and dirt. Admittedly, I was undecided in this year’s presidential primaries because as is often the case, both candidates are clearly picked before either of my states get a chance to voice an opinion. I also allowed that attitude to keep me from forming strong opinions about any of the candidates, through tens of debates, hundreds of hours of TV coverage, a best friend’s inspiring campaign volunteerism and my mother’s endless rhetoric. Simply put, I’m used to having two choices, and more often than not neither one is much good. Now I see that I have an actual choice and chance to make a difference. I feel in my heart an obligation to tell you: Go and make a difference! I can’t wait to do my part.

I find it important to tell you folks because the Indiana and Pennsylvania contests are ready and waiting for our participation.

PA Residents: click here to download your voter registration form, you must be affiliated with a political party to vote in it’s primary, for additional info call your county voter registration office number right on the form!

Be sure to mail the form to your home county’s office for fastest processing.

I also must confess my other revelation: at 22:15 on March 18, 2008 I decided that I will back Barack Obama to fill a position that is in need of a great leader, and even more importantly, a great servant.

As I watched the video he gave today entitled “A More Perfect Union,” I saw the greatest ideas and hopes within myself come through in his heartfelt speech. Barack spoke earnestly about problems that we rarely discuss among ourselves, let alone the mainstream media giving it just time for legitimate analysis and discussion. Barack admitted that there is always room for improvement, especially in the world’s greatest country. As my friends, you know that if there is one thing I stand for it is unity, including everybody in my life that wants to be there. I believe that I am here to serve and cherish the idea that we are all connected in one way or another. In an instant I saw, felt and heard that Barack Obama truly wants the United States of America to become that more perfect union, by learning from its past, applying it to the present and creating a future we all want. He is doing it one person at a time.

The reason I sent out this email is that Obama has inspired me to take responsibility for my own vote (life, choices, etc.). If I were behind the podium, you better believe that I would have said something similar and probably not as eloquent. He made one thing clear, The Golden Rule is cool: do unto others and you would do for yourself. Those old dead guys who signed our most important papers gave you all the right to vote as they would have liked. It’s there, waiting for you to grab it, and doesn’t care about your race, sex, thoughts, class, creed or political party. Only what you believe in.

peace and <3

Training Runs

Training Map

Nothing too fancy just yet but I’ve wanted to start mapping out my training runs a bit. The process is way too manual at this point but perhaps over the coming months I’ll clean it up and read up on some best practices. If anyone has any suggestions, shout!

So far: 27 miles run in the last 3 weeks with a long way still to go.
Goal: Sub 4hour Marathon this fall.
Past experience: Ran a sub 2 hour half last fall so it’s time to step it up.

3G iPhone Prediction – Mark Your Calendars for June08

I’m certainly not the first one to speculate on this but the math is simple…

Over WiFi or CELL NETWORK downloads via iTunes App Store + iPhone 2.0 + WWDC all in June2008 = 3G iPhone Announced @ WWDC

Plain and simple. Right?
